Growing up as a child in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the indelible experiences of growing up included struggles and obstacles Lee would learn to conquer and overcome. The single-parent home provided love and basic needs, but struggling with depression, difficulties in school, and facing a near-death experience all challenged him to raise the bar. Upon completing high school, he earned a basketball scholarship to Western Wyoming Community College. With tenacity and determination, he continued his education, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. He was recognized as the Physical Education and Health Student of the Year. The unique experiences of his life encompassed his classroom and coaching style. Lee has been teaching and coaching basketball for twelve years. He served as Vice President of Health for Wyoming Association Physical Education Recreation and Dance. His ability to inspire students and teachers to remain motivated and surmount challenges earned him the 2015 Wyoming Physical Education Dance Teacher of the Year, followed by 2016 as the Wyoming Physical Education Teacher of the Year.
Lee effectively exposes teachers and students to the benefits of incorporating movement for concept mastery and enhancing classroom experiences. His attentiveness to special needs adaptation and application was borne out of his experience as a parent. Lee learned to cope with the additional challenges of having twins when one twin was diagnosed with a rare brain disorder. Lee once again took an experience and used it to learn, grow and expand his knowledge and used this to benefit and educate others. His message is one that motivates teachers and students to reach for their best selves - regardless of adversity and raises the bar for ultimate levels of success. With his understanding of both sides of the spectrum, he leaves students and teachers inspired, strengthened, and ready to surmount and conquer academic and life challenges.
